Lucy turns 4-years-old on June 12. She has her procedure on June 13. She will have her yearly check-up on June 15. This is the life of a pediatric cancer survivor. This is the life of a mom of a pediatric cancer survivor. This is life because she is ALIVE! God's got this.
The tears flowed. They did not stop. I was completely overwhelmed.
Four hours later I got a pounding headache.
I sometimes still get jealous and wonder if I had one more baby, could I keep that baby in until 37 weeks. I wonder if the third baby wouldn't have colic, severe reflux and lactose intolerant. I wonder if my 3rd baby wouldn't have the 'c' word. Sometimes I wonder.
I thank God Lucy is cancer free and healthy. I'm so excited to continue living!
said, "This is Baby Lucy Jo after the doctors took the monster out of your belly."
She said, "Noooooo," with a giggle.
I said, "Yes, that's you."
She said, "Noooooo. That's baby. No hair," and giggled some more.
The operator/nurse said that she would work on it and try to get back to me his afternoon, but it might be tomorrow morning.
A colleague called me at work last week and said, “I have a question and my wife put me up to this. Are you Lucy Jo’s mama?”
